In this section of our website we share with visitors the current top 10 resources that we find helpful for our marketing business. We have no commercial arrangements whatsoever with any of the suppliers of these resources, so this is our unbiased and objective opinion of their value to us as a small business. If you have a useful resource that you would like to suggest for this page, please contact us with the details and we will be happy to review them for possible inclusion.
Business Link
Business Link is featured on our Links page but we really wanted to give it a special mention here as it has been such a useful resource for our business. Funded by the London Development Agency, this organisation provides a fantastic free service for anyone running their own business or thinking of starting one. Their website is full of useful guides that can be downloaded in a variety of formats and they run free courses, seminars and business networking events on many key aspects of business, including marketing, PR, sales, IT and e-commerce. For more information and and free registration, see the Business Link website.
City Business Library
A highly useful information resource for businesses. The Library also runs regular free workshops on topics such as market research databases and company information databases. See the City of London website for details.
Ed Rivis
Ed
has a very proactive blog full of information about web marketing. He recently carried out an interesting survey in which he polled website owners about their experiences with search engine optimisation. See Ed's blog for more information.
Envirowise
We recently attended an excellent presentation by Envirowise's Rachel Widdows and were impressed by the range of free information, publications and events they offer to UK businesses on sustainable practices. We are currently reviewing our own green practices to see where we can do more, and this website is proving very helpful. For more information, visit Envirowise
GLE oneLondon
We have just become aware of this organisation, an economic development company which is involved with social, economic and physical regeneration in London's boroughs. They have free advice and courses for small businesses. As a small business ourselves we know only too well how difficult it can be to get by on limited resources and we applaud organisations such as this for lending a helping hand. For more information, visit the GLE oneLondon website.
Guide to Book Publishers, Editors, & Literary Agents by Jeff Herman

big, information-packed resource for writers, agents and editors in the US market. Available from all good bookstores, ISBN 0-9772682-1-7.
Henley Management College

Million Dollar Marketing Secrets by Ryan Healy
We ordered this book (ISBN 978-0-9704592-9-9) direct from Ryan Healy's website and were impressed with the advice and information it contains from 22 professionals in the field of strategic marketing. The topics are varied and wide-ranging, including market positioning, selling techniques, outsourcing, the power of testimonials, and setting buying criteria. Our favourite sections are e-Media Marketing: 9 Steps to Media Marketing by Tom Antion and Prove It! by Eileen Coale. Ryan's blog is also worth a visit. It's warm, funny and very down to earth - for proof, read his Save a Back piece!
The British Libary
A treasure trove of information! By signing up as a reader, you get access to the British Library's collections and, most importantly of all for small businesses, its Business and IP Centre, which has market research reports and press archives. The centre also runs a variety of business courses. For more information, see the Business & IP centre website
The Writer's Handbook (Editor Barry Turner)
One of our clients is an author and we have found this resource very helpful in publishing, promoting and selling her books in the UK. Find out more at The Writer's Handbook website or at major high-street and online bookstores, ISBN 1-4050-4937-5.
